Fontanelle
“Fontanelle” is the title of our exhibition because both of us recently gave birth to a child, and so daily we experienced fontanelle as a metaphysical symbol. In various languages very similar metaphors are used to designate ‘fontanelle”, this membrane-covered opening between bones on the crown of the head of babies, such as well, source and fountain (fontilicus in latin).
This is a pure fountain from which art draws its inspiration, and it is the fountain of “fontilicus”. A connection can also be made between “fontanelle” and the so-called third or inner eye which guaranties spiritual vision, an indispensable faculty for us painters.
This well is deeper than any other well, a bottomless resource. Through it we can view creation itself: when we hold our newborn baby in our arms and when we look at the just finished painting.

Azért választottuk a Fontanelle (latin: fontitlicus) címet kiállításunk névadójául, mert mindkettőnknek közel egy időben kisgyermeke született, és naponta megtapasztalhattuk a fontanelle, vagyis a kutacs metafizikáját.
A kutacsot, ezt az újszülött feje búbján lévő be nem nőtt koponyacsontot a különböző nyelvek nagyon hasonló metaforákkal jelölik: kút, forrás, szökőkút. Egy tiszta forrás van, amiből a művészet meríthet, és ez a kutacs forrása.
A kutacs kapcsolatba hozható az úgynevezett harmadik, vagy belső szemmel is, ami a spirituális látást biztosítja, és ami nekünk, képzőművészeknek elengedhetetlen az alkotáshoz.
Ez a kút mélyebb minden kútnál, kiapadhatatlan. Rajta keresztül magára a teremtésre láthatunk rá. Akkor is, ha kezünkbe vesszük újszülött gyermekünk, és akkor is, ha az elkészült, megfestett alkotásra tekintünk.
